- Ifriqya membership is open to individuals, and organizations interested in promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in North Africa.
- Members should in any event be (a) private practitioners interested in the promotion of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in North Africa, such as arbitrators, mediators, lawyers; (b) in-house counsel, judges, academics, and ad-hoc.*[1]
- Prospective members should fill out our online application form and submit their resumes and pay an annual membership fee.
- Membership term: (a) The membership term spans one year. (b) Memberships are effective from the payment date and will be automatically renewed annually. Failure to pay the membership fee may result in membership termination.
- The Executive Board has the authority to suspend membership if it determines that a member violated any of the membership terms and conditions or has acted in a way that is harmful to the organization's mission and values.
- The suspended member will be notified in writing of a potential suspension and the grounds for the potential suspension, and given an opportunity to respond before any final decision is made. If the member fails to respond or rectify the breach, the Executive Board may terminate their membership. However, if the breach is rectified, the member may be reinstated upon payment of any outstanding fees.
- Any member may cancel membership by giving the Secretary-General written notification (including by email). If a member cancels their membership, they will not be entitled to a prorated refund of the membership fee. The organization shall maintain a register of members and their contact details, which shall be kept confidential and used only for the purposes of the organization.
[1] It is important to note that membership in Ifriqya Arbitration Forum is not limited to African nationals or residents, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
